Recently I had to change my internet package at Bell.ca. I had the 1Gb Fibe internet (which I heard is no longer provided by this internet provider) which I had upgraded to the 3Gb Fibe internet. So far, I am not seeing any difference, if any it seems to be a bit slower which should be impossible. However, I am keeping an eye on it and running frequent internet speed test at speedtest.net. Bell’s website indicates that I am actually connected to a 3Gb internet but am I actually getting that is another story completely. That being said, I knew I had a wifi extender around the house so I located it, plugged it in and connected it to my modem. For this article we will be looking at how to change dlink wifi extender password without all the hassle.

This was the D-Link 1325 extender. It was a pain in the “arss” to get it connected. However, I managed to pull it off with the WSP method. Here is how to connect your wifi extender to your modem using the WSP method.

In order to access a new password or change the password on your dlink 1325 wifi extender you must first be connected to your wifi modem. Once you are connected the next steps are not as complicated.

How to Change Your D-Link Wifi Extender Password

It can be very simple to change your dlink wifi extender’s password if you forgot it or just didn’t know it to begin with. The first thing you can do is to go to the D-Link’s official website and select your country. You can have this done by visiting the following web address for D-Link Support. Once you are on their website you should be able to choose between Brazil, Canada, Latin America, and United States. Once you select your country you will be taken to the D-Link building networks for people tech support page. Here you can search for products, downloads, and answers. In the search bar type in “DAP 1325” or click the link to DAP-1325.

Next, you can now click on the DAP-1325 wifi extender image. This will now take you to the page that deals only with this model of extender. Look in the frequently asked question section and or search for “I lost or forgot my range extender’s wireless password, how do I recover it?”. This will more than likely be in on the second page of the frequently asked questions. Once you locate this select it and you will see a pop-up window with relevant information to move forward – See image below:

STEPS TO COMPLETE WIRELESS EXTENDER PASSWORD

Once you arrive at the pop-up window you will now have 3 steps to complete in order to change or setup a new password for your wireless extender. Here are the steps to complete:

Step 1: Log into the setup page of your wireless extender. You can accomplish this by following this link – How to log into your wifi range extender?

2: From the Current Status page, click on the extender icon that is there in the middle of the display area

3: Your wireless extender’s settings and password(s) will be displayed with additional information.

Step 1 Explained

Once you have entered the link in step one above. You will be asked to select your Range Extender. If you do not see the DAP – 1325 then please go ahead and select the DAP – 1320. This will take you to the section that gives the proper instructions.

  • Plug in the extender
  • From a wireless computer and or device, scan for available networks and connect to the extender’s wireless signal
  • Open a web browser and go to this address – DLinkAP.Local. You will be directed to the DAP – 1325 Configuration page. NB – Be sure to disconnect from any VPN that you may have. This will prevent the site from being reached. Once you disconnect from the VPN you will be able to go to the configuration site as seen below
  • To sign in, the default username is Admin and there is No Password. Just click to proceed. If you had changed the password or do not remember it then click this link and follow the steps under DAP – 1325 to clear all password and proceed.
