If you play around with your android phone long enough then you should by now know about the motions and gestures features on these phones. Especially the samsung galaxy note 10 and 10 plus phones. That being said, there is one particular feature in this that we want to look at for this article. This is the double tap to turn phonescreen on or off feature. This is a great feature for the Samsung phone line and one that I enjoy and use a lot.
Now there is no need to pressure your physical power button. You know, the button on the side of your phone that you can also use to turn your phone screen on or off. Using this feature more and more will eleminate the possibility of your physical button becoming stuck or malfunctioning. There as been many reports of the Samsung phone power (or lock and unlock) button malfunctioning or becoming stuck. There are many threads as to how to fix the samsung power button stuck. The gesture we are going to look at, as said before, will help you to avoid running into some of these issues.
Here is How To Activate Double Tap on Samsung Phone
- Take your phone and go into settings. For most people this can be done by swipping down on your phone screen and tapping the GEAR icon in the upper right hand corner
- Once you are in settings go down to Advanced Features (Android Auto – Side Key – Bixby Routines)
- Look for and tap on Motions and Gestures
Within this settings options you will see:
- Lift to wake
- Double tap to turn on screen
- Double tap to turn off screen
- Keep screen on while viewing
- Alert when phone picked up
- Mute the gestures and
- Palm swipe to capture
The second and third options you should turn on (for the purpose of this article). Once you have those two check on you can now exit. Now you can turn off the screen when you double tap it. You can also, now, double tap to turn phonescreen on from an empty space on your Home or Lock screen.
