PS4 Pro Compare to PS5
So, the PS5 is here and for many they are still looking forward to owning their very first of this generation console. Is the PS5 worth buying right now or anytime soon? We will be diving into this answer through this article as we checkout the biggest differences you need to know before buying the PS5 compared to the PS4 pro console.
If you are one such person that has already purchased their PS5, I trust this information will find favor with you as well. That being said, here we go…
SSD – Solid State Drive
This is more than likely the biggest difference between the PS5 and the PS4 Pro. With the PS5 rolling out with its SSD (Solid State Drive) it is now doubt extremely impressive.
The PS5 SSD is running in at about 5.5GB/s and allowing expandability via HDD. This is the fastest SSD on the market right now.
CPU and GPU – Is The PS5 Worth BUYING?
The PS5 is significantly more powerful and the PS4 pro. The PS4 Pro is running in with it’s 2.1GHz 8 Core Jaguar Processor but it is far from cutting edge. The PS5 semi-custom Zen 2 CPU is also not what we would refer to as cutting edge but it is a massive improvement to the PS4 pro.
The PS5 in base form with 8 cores will be pushing around 3.5GHz. Impressive jump I would say. The PS5 will be providing a GPU of 10.28 Teraflops while the PS4 Pro is a mere 4.2 TFLOPS.
8K Capability – Is The PS5 Worth BUYING?
Whilst the PS4 Pro brought a common era to 4K abilities and experience setting the foundation for the industry to fall back on as a standard in years to come. Sony has said that the PS5 is also capable of rendering in 8K resolution in some games.
Though this may be hard to actually prove off paper, it is interesting that the PS5 is calculated to perform as such.
Dualshock Vs No Dualshock Controller
This one we can look at in short statements. PS4 Pro = Dualshock controller. PS5 = Dualsense controller. Though the Dualsense has a lot of similarities to the dualshock 4 it stands out with the following:
- Adaptive Triggers – this will allow the triggers to increase or decrease the tension on the triggers depending on gameplay.
- Haptic Feedback – this will replace the rumble that dualshock has had for years and will give a wider range of feedback.
- Create Button – This button has replaced the share button and will allow for more functionality.
- Built-In Microphone and Integrated Speakers – This will allow voice chat seem more seamless.
Overall Impression of the PS4 Pro Vs PS5 Consoles
So all in all the two consoles being compared can seem sort of a night and day with it comes to performance and even looks
The PS5 along with all that we have looked at comes with a new UI Overhaul, Backward compatibility (though not a lot), Fan Noise has been reduced, and finally it comes with options. What this last one means is that the PS5 now has a disc and a discless version.
