SOS FEATURE ON SAMSUNG DEVICE

This feature was surprising when I came across it some time ago. I felt I should write an article about this and let you know about this life saving feature on Samsung phones. Yes I do mean life saving. Without delay, this is an introduction, for those who are not aware of the SOS feature on Samsung Devices (phones). Samsung has many many features and you can learn more about them HERE!

Without dragging on here is a little recap of the feature. As you know or should know already about SOS. These are for emergencies when you find your self in need of help. You can imagine the various situations that one can find themselves in. From being taken, being robbed, stuck in the snow, under attack and the list can go on and on.

Samsung has taken a next step with their devices to ensure that their customers can reach people for help when they are in need. However, this sos feature on Samsung does not come pre-selected. this means that you will have to turn this feature on. And here is how to do this:

Steps to turn on SOS Feature on Samsung

  • Swipe down your notifications
  • Access your settings
  • Scroll down until you see Advance Features
  • Then Scroll down until you see Send SOS messages
  • Tap SOS messages and turn it on. It will then walk you through some steps to add some emergency contacts. You have activated SOS messages on Samsung.

IMPORTANT INFO BELOW & MORE

What the above will do now is – when you hit the side key either 3 or 4 times (depending on what you set it up as), it is going to automatically send an SOS message to all of your emergency contacts.

This feature not only sends the SOS text message but it also takes pictures with your front camera and rear camera. It also takes a 5 second audio recording. But not just that, it also takes your location and sends all these to your emergency contacts. You can also set it to call someone specific (Auto Call Someone) when you activate this SOS feature.

SOMETHING TO KEEP IN MIND

NB: It is possible that this mode only works if you keep your default messaging App that came with your phone!
